Composing

I’m having the hardest time composing for my higher music O’level examination. I’ve heard people telling me repetitively that constructing a system of melodies is an innate talent that can only be done by a select few.

However, there’s another group of people — the ones that genuinely care about my passions and interests, the ones that support me through hell and highwater, they are the ones who told me that composing is going to be natural for me soon enough.

So I guess I’ll just have to stick with it and maybe manage my time better.

In retrospect, composing isn’t really supposed to be stressful. It’s actually quite fun when you get the hang of it — but how many of us can get the hang of it so quickly?

Oh well…There’s only one thing I can do. There’s only thing I must do.

1 Praise the LORD.Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre,
4praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.
Psalm 150:1-5 (NIV)
